📅 Updated October 2026 Plans and prices were read from InterServer's own VPS page on October 12, 2026 (USD, monthly billing, before tax). We did not find a documented independent speed or uptime test of InterServer's VPS, so this review makes no performance claims of its own. How we evaluated this: research-based. We did not run our own benchmarks for this review.

InterServer sells VPS hosting in "slices": each slice costs $3 a month and adds 2GB of memory, 40GB of SSD storage, 2TB of transfer and a share of CPU (1 core for the first slice, then about half a core per extra slice), and you choose anywhere from 1 to 32 slices. The pricing is linear and monthly, there is no promotional-then-renewal price on the plan grid, and managed support is included from 8 slices.

This review covers how the slice model works, the sizes and prices as InterServer lists them today, the locations and control panels, and who should choose it over Contabo, Vultr or a managed host. For the wider market, see the best VPS hosting comparison. If you are choosing a shared plan instead, see the InterServer shared hosting review.

Our short answer: InterServer VPS is a straightforward, predictable VPS for people who like linear pricing and want US locations. It is not the cheapest per GB of RAM (Contabo is), and the page states no refund window or uptime guarantee. Managed help only starts at 8 slices ($24 a month).

What is InterServer VPS?

InterServer's cloud compute line sells Linux VPS (KVM), Windows VPS with Remote Desktop (from $10 a month), Storage VPS (from $3 a month) and one-click app templates. Every VPS includes root or administrator access, static public IP addresses, a 10Gbps shared port, SSD storage and monthly billing. If the term is new, read what a VPS is.

What every VPS includes

  • Root access for Linux or administrator access for Windows, with full server control.
  • KVM and Hyper-V virtualization for workload isolation.
  • Static public IP addresses for predictable networking and DNS.
  • Optional control panels: Webuzo, DirectAdmin, cPanel or Plesk. See what cPanel is.
  • App options: Webuzo one-click installers (WordPress, Magento, Joomla, Drupal and more), a VPS app marketplace and templates such as WordPress VPS.
  • Backups: an off-server Cloud Remote Backup Service is available as an add-on.

💰 InterServer VPS pricing (October 2026)

Each slice is $3 a month and the price scales linearly. These are the sizes the page highlights, with the full grid running to 32 slices.

SizePrice per monthCPU coresMemorySSD storageTransfer
1 slice$312GB40GB2TB
4 slices$1228GB160GB8TB
8 slices (managed support)$24416GB320GB16TB
12 slices$36624GB480GB24TB
16 slices$48832GB640GB32TB
20 slices$601040GB800GB40TB
24 slices$721248GB960GB48TB
32 slices$961664GB1,280GB64TB

The yearly cost is simply twelve times the monthly price: $36 for 1 slice, $144 for 4 slices, $288 for 8 slices and $1,152 for 32 slices. The page does not describe a long-term discount or a renewal increase on these monthly prices, but we did not read the order flow, so confirm in the cart.

⚠️ Read the CPU line: the slice grid shows 1 core for 1 slice but 2 cores for 4 slices, 4 for 8 and 16 for 32, so each slice does not add a full core. Memory, storage and transfer scale evenly, while CPU scales at about half a core per slice.

🚀 Performance: what we could and could not verify

We found no recent, documented independent test of InterServer's VPS. The page states a 10Gbps shared port, SSD storage and predictable resources, and it does not state an uptime guarantee. These are platform claims, not measurements. The older independent test we found for InterServer's shared hosting (ITPro, October 2022) is a different product and is old. Test your own workload on the plan and location you intend to use, and monitor it with a free uptime tool.

🌍 Locations, support and migration

  • Locations: New York City, Dallas and Los Angeles, all in the US. If your audience is in Europe or Asia, expect higher latency. See what a data center is.
  • Support: engineers help with databases, services, uptime, control panels and common server issues on plans of 8 slices or more. Below that, you manage the server yourself.
  • Migration: the VPS page does not describe a migration service. Ask support.

🎯 Who InterServer VPS is for

✅ InterServer VPS is a good fit if

  • You want simple, linear monthly pricing
  • Your audience is in the US
  • You want Windows or Linux and a choice of control panels
  • You may want managed help as the server grows (8+ slices)

❌ Look elsewhere if

🏆 Final verdict: is InterServer VPS worth it in 2026?

Yes for a US-focused, predictable VPS, with eyes open on the gaps. The $3 slice model is easy to understand and to scale, and managed help from 8 slices is a nice step up. Contabo gives more RAM per dollar, and InMotion gives a 90-day guarantee, so compare them and confirm the refund and uptime terms with InterServer before you commit.
